Dear Ms. Davidow

Hello, my name is Wilfreddy Suarez, My birthday is November 16, 2001, and I’m currently 18 years old. I was born and raised here in the USA, me and my family which consist of Mom, my Big Brother, and my Little brother, we are Dominican but unlike everyone else, I really act like one. I speak both English and Spanish, mostly Spanish in my household but I speak more English since I go to school and speak with English speaking friends. During my free time, I like to watch lots of anime and play many video games whenever I have the chance, I also started watching YouTube a lot more. I believe having patience is a talent because not many people have it. On the other hand, I have patience when it comes to almost everything, kids these days are really impatient and spoiled. Before I came to City College I was attending a school named New Design High School also located in NY lower Manhattan.

Many memorable events have happened from my childhood to now. One of the many events that have shaped me to who I am today was once I turned 7 or 8 my mom got my first very own computer, because of that I was sucked into a world where my imagination could run wild, whenever I was on that computer it was like the world behind me disappeared and I was in a fantasy land where I could do whatever I want when I want, unless my mom tells me to get off the computer, but other than that it was one of the best parts of my life. Also because of my computer, I got addicted to playing so many video games, where to this day I still play lots and lots of video games. Another event was because of my computer, when I 10 or 11 I learned about the amazing art that was anime, when I was looking through youtube I accidentally stumbled upon it in which I instantly fell in love and wanted to watch more and more. Fairy Tail, One Piece, Attack On Titan, Bleach, every time I watched a new anime I kept getting more and more attached to it, all the action, adventure and drama into those animations it was mesmerizing. It was truly breathtaking and it changed my life for the good. One more event was during the age of 11 to 13 because of anime I became very interested in drawing. At first, I was horrible as you would aspect, I just traced pictures I really like, let’s say the video game character Mario or Sonic, I really enjoyed tracing them. After a while when I get even more interested in anime I wanted to learn how to draw my favorite characters, so in order to do that instead of tracing I just copied the drawings by looking at them. They were really bad but I kept trying and trying and now I’m pretty decent, which I’m proud of.

The dreams and goals that I have for my future are fairly simple. I want to pass college in the next 4 years with a bachelor’s degree and knowledge in computer science. With my degree, I could my future job as a video game tester so I can play video games and get money all at the same time. Then even further down in my future, even if it sounds silly now, I would like to get married to my girlfriend and start a family of my own, maybe that’s too much but hey, it won’t happen anytime soon.
